Jake Gyllenhaal Goes to the ER After Punching a Mirror on Set
Talk about really getting into character.
While filming a scene for his new movie Nightcrawler, in which he plays an intense crime scene reporter, Jake Gyllenhaal punched a mirror so hard that he cut his hand and had to be taken to the emergency room Wednesday morning, People reports.
"Jake flipped out," an on-set source tells People. "His character was looking into a mirror during the scene and punched the mirror in anger and broke it."
But a source close to Gyllenhaal says the incident was the result of nothing more than the actor going a little too method. "The scene was emotionally charged," the source tells People. "It was all the scene and not because he was mad about anything else."
Gyllenhaal, 32, received stitches before being released from the hospital, but he was back on set later that day, People reports.
