Casey Kasem's Wife Says He's Near Death

Casey Kasem's wife revealed in court documents that the ailing American Top 40 host only has months to live, according to TMZ.com.

the news came to light when Kasem, who suffers from advanced Parkinson's disease, and wife Jean Kasem were sued by a former caregiver, who claimed she was mistreated while working for the couple. Though Jean did not appear in small claims court, the couple's lawyer told the judge that they needed a continuance for a few months because Kasem is near death's door. "My husband is terminally ill and unable to leave home," Jean said in court documents. The case was ultimately thrown out.

Kasem's second wife is also fighting off Kasem's three children over control of Kasem's health directive. She has denied Julie, 38, Kerri, 41, and Mike, 40, from seeing their 81-year-old father for the past three months, the children say. The trio filed for conservatorship.
