OBITUARY: Jack E Gunter

Jack E Gunter of Panama Beach, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013.

Jack was born May 26, 1934, in Broughton to the late William Henry Gunter and Maude Alice (Robinson) Gunter. Jack served his country in the Navy. He retired from the Navy and then served 10 years in the Merchant Marines. Jack loved to travel and he enjoyed reminiscing at his ship's reunions when able to attend. He liked to attend the Evansville Otter Baseball games. He was a lifetime member of the VFW post.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles "Bud" Gunter; and sister, Katherine Marie Gunter. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Margaret "Margie" Tislow Gunter; daughter, Dana Garlick (Jerry), of Norris City; three stepdaughters, Lisa Shelton (Donnie) of Eldorado, Joni Wells, Panama Beach, Fla., Jennifer Manning, Evansville, Ind.; two sisters, Dorothy Adams of Harrisburg, Juanita Phillips of Eldorado; and several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Memorialization will be by cremation and no services will be held at this time.
