Today's News: Our Take - Girl Meets World Nixes Older Brother Character

Girl Meets World has decided to scrap the character of Elliot, the oldest son of Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel) and big brother to the titular Girl, Riley (Rowan Blanchard).

Teo Halm, the 13-year-old actor who was set to play Elliot, shared the news on Twitter Saturday. " So guys, Disney decided that it wouldn't work to have an older brother on the show; I won't be on Girl Meets World. Thank you to everyone," he wrote.

Fishel seems to be settling into her role as a mother nicely, as she responded: "Teo, you are an incredible talent and I adore you. You may still call me 'mom.' :)"

Halm wrote back: "That means so much to me. Thanks 'mom.'"

Riley will still have one sibling on the show - a younger brother named Louis(August Maturo).
