Rockmond Dunbar Joins the Cast of The Mentalist

Rockmond Dunbar has landed a multi-episode arc on The Mentalist , Deadline.com reports.

The Prison Break alum, who currently recurs on Sons of Anarchy , will play FBI Agent Dennis Abbott, a no-nonsense cop who isn't impressed by Patrick Jane (Simon Baker).

With the impending exits of Amanda Righetti and Owain Yeoman, Dunbar has the potential to become a series regular.

The Mentalist returns Sunday, Sept. 29 at 10/9c on CBS.
