OBITUARY: Billy Joe McCoy
Billy Joe McCoy, 87, of 701 Mundy Street, Eldorado, died Aug. 7, 2013, in Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.
He was born in Stonefort July 5, 1926, to the late Ralph and Emma (Turner) McCoy. He was a Navy veteran of WWII, worked as a Boilermaker, was a member of the Union Ridge Presbyterian Church and he was a member of the Eldorado American Legion Post No. 169. He was a guitarist and loved music.
On Aug. 8, 1949, he married the former Mary Jane (Tyler) and she preceded him in death on March 19, 2010.
Surviving are his two sons; Joe (Norma) McCoy of Harrisburg and Keith Wayne McCoy of Eldorado. Also surviving are three daughters: Rebecca McCoy of Eldorado, Mary (John) Bourland of Equality and Laura (Danny) Bradley of Eldorado; six grandchildren: Chad (Jerilynn) McCoy, Jason (Rachel) McCoy, Christine (Josh) Golish, Courtney (Mike) Smothers, Emma Bradley and Everett Bradley; and eight great-grandchildren: Madison, Coner, Ethan, Trent, Samantha, Kayden, Caleb and Drew. He is also survived by his brother Robert "Bugs" (Iona) McCoy of Eldorado.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Wayne McCoy and Warren McCoy and two sisters Helen Lombardo and Beverly Davis.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at the Union Ridge Presbyterian Church. Kathy Dunn will officiate. Burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery with Military Rites. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at the Watson Funeral Home and from 1:30 p.m. until service time at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Union Ridge Presbyterian Church and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
