Emmy-nominated writer-producer George Burditt died Tuesday in Burbank, Deadline reports. He was 89.

Burditt wrote dozens of Three's Company episodes, and served as executive producer on the series from 1981 to 1984. He also earned for Emmy nominations for his work as a writer on The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour and Van Dyke and Company . His other credits include All in the Family, Sanford and Son, The Jeffersons, Three's a Crowd and 227. He is survived by his wife Joyce, the creator of Diagnosis Murder , two children, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. His son Jack Burditt is an Emmy-winning writer-producer known for his work on 30 Rock and Frasier .
