OBITUARY: John F. Wasson II

John F. Wasson II, 53, of 208 West Walnut Street, Carrier Mills, died Monday, May 20, 2013, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held noon Thursday May 23, 2013, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Visitation will be held 10 a.m. Thursday until service time. Masonic Rites will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Harl Cockrum will officiate and burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery near Herod.

He was born on Jan. 8, 1960, in Harrisburg, to John Franklin and Patsy (Field) Wasson.

John worked for many years as an automobile salesman working many years at Jim Hayes, Inc., he was a die hard Chrysler man; he loved to play golf and was an avid Green Bay Packers Fan.

John was a former Mayor of Carrier Mills, member of the Carrier Mills Masonic Lodge and member of the Carrier Mills Sons of the American Legion.

He is survived by his parents: John and Patsy Wasson of Carrier Mills; three daughters: Holly Wasson Martin of Carrier Mills, Rachel Wasson and Taylor Wasson both of Carterville; two grandchildren: Briley Martin and Haven Martin, both of Carrier Mills; aunts and uncles: Billie Womack, Betty Renshaw, Charles "Dude" Field, Vern Field, Larry and Sue Field, Lula Belle Field and Darlyne Stovel; his children's mothers: Kelly Pinkston and Stacy Wasson, both of Harrisburg; several cousins; and his companion: Peebles.
