TV Show Recaps - Dancing with the Stars Episode Recap: Tuesday, April 23, 2013
Stevie Wonder Week will end not-so-wonderfully for one Dancing with the Stars couple. Did Victor survive yet again or did someone else get the boot?
So Victor is going bye-bye, yes? Let's just put the dude out of his misery already. He's obviously not pulling in the votes and his heart is not totally in it anymore. At least he'd get one last dance with the Team Paso encore. Yes, they won the Twitter vote, no doubt thanks mostly in part to Zendaya's 2 million-plus followers. This also extends her and Val's perfect Twitter vote record this season to 4-0. Guys, it's not a popularity contest. Oh, wait.
First three safe couples:
Kellie and Derek
Aly and Mark
Zendaya and Val
Sean and Peta are in jeopardy. Sean, to his credit, hardly looks surprised and says the judges were "fair" in their critique.
After a montage to the true unsung heroes of the show, the hard-working crew, and a Will.i.am performance, we get the cutest montage of all time: Ingo's 4-year-old son, Peanut. Kid's a baller. He high-fives everyone on their way to their skybox and apparently is a huge party animal. "I'll see you at the after-party!" he shouted at who-knows-who on the lot last night. Can I keep you?
Next safe couple:
Ingo and Kym (How could he not be after that?)
Victor and Lindsay are (surprise!) in jeopardy. Actually, it is a surprise to the minor contingent that boos the news. "And you have fans here," Tom says. Subtle burns are the best burns.
Next safe couple:
Jacoby and Karina
Andy and Sharna are in jeopardy, but are soon declared safe. Group hug! I love how much everyone loves Andy. That means Victor and Lindsay, and Sean and Peta are the bottom two. This is Victor and Lindsay's fourth time there. No one else has been there more than twice. I don't know if it's impressive he's survived this long or sad that he's always hanging on by a thread.
And the couple going home is... Victor and Lindsay. Duh.
"I had a blast. I made great friends. ... At the end of the day, it was a heck of an experience. Hopefully these beautiful people can follow me to my next world championship bout," he says. "I'm happy to get this far."
Thanks for playing, Victor. You're a good guy, just not a good dancer.
Next week is Latin Week. Plus: Next week's results show will feature a special segment on Adrianne Haslet-Davis, a dance teacher who lost a foot in the Boston Marathon bombings.
What do you think? Did Victor deserve to go? Are you surprised two of the three new pros are gone already? Are you happy Sean's plan to take down Andy bombed in his face? Do you want to party with Peanut? Who's your current pick to win?
