OBITUARY: Donna King

Donna King, 76, of 5630 US Highway 45 South, Harrisburg, died 5:45 a.m. Monday April 1, 2013, at the Carrier Mills Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday April 4, 2013, at Cana Cemetery near Goreville. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. The Rev. Darrell Ford will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Shriners Childrens Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

She was born on Jan. 11, 1937, in Union County to the late Charles and Lovah (Miles) Smith.

She married Donald R. King on May 7, 1955, and he survives.

She loved to sew, especially making quilts, painting and all kinds of crafts.

She was a member of the Homemakers Extension for many years, and she attended the Carrier Mills United Methodist Church for many years.

She is survived by her husband: Donald King of Harrisburg; three sons: Randy (Debra) King of Carrier Mills; Nate (Tammy) King of New Burnside and Rick (Carolyn) King of Harrisburg; six grandchildren: Roni (Jeff) Roberts of Harrisburg, Allson (Stephen) Shea of Ft. Hood, Texas, Nick King of Harisburg, Justin King of Harrisburg, Jake Street of Stonefort and Matt Street of New Burnside; two sisters: Joyce Burns and Robyn Vaughn both of Marion; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
