MTV VMAs Moving to Brooklyn

The MTV Video Music Awards will be held in Brooklyn on Sunday, Aug. 25.

The network made the announcement on Monday through a series of Instagram photos following the iconic Moonman on his journey from Los Angeles to Brooklyn's Barclay's Center, the Jay-Z-owned arena and home of the Brooklyn Nets.

The 30th annual VMAs will be the first major annual awards show to take place in the borough."From hip-hop to hipsters, Jay- Z to MGMT, Brooklyn musicians have a long history of dominating the 'spotlight' on MTV.
