Ratings: Smash Rises; Hell's Kitchen on Top
Smash grew for the first time since its premiere a month ago on Tuesday.
The musical drama nabbed 2.9 million viewers and a 0.9 in the adults 18-to-49 demographic, inching up a tenth.
The best "very special" episodes
Fox won the repeat-heavy night with the two-hour season premiere of Hell's Kitchen (5.4 million, 2.2), which was down two-tenths from last season's opener.
ABC's Celebrity Wife Swap (5 million, 1.6) was up, while the season finale of The Taste (3.4 million, 1.1) and Body of Proof (6.7 million, 1.2) both fell a tenth.
CBS' Golden Boy (8.5 million, 1.6) was flat, even with NCIS and NCIS: LA repeats as lead-ins.
