OBITUARY: Jake Robards

Jake Robards, 40, of Stonefort died Nov. 25, 2012, in Evansville, Ind., as a result of an ATV accident.

Jake was born June 17, 1972, at Offutt AFB, Neb., to John and Kris (Schroen) Robards. He married Angela Trudell on Sept. 30, 1995.

He graduated from Grass Lake High School in 1990. As a young man, he loved sports and was an avid football player, wrestler and bull rider. He was employed by Mid-America Machining in Brooklyn, Mich., as a service technician. This position provided him the opportunity to travel worldwide, which he truly enjoyed. Jake was a patriot and loved his country, family, and the Lord. He was a member of Amazing Grace Ministries Church. He enjoyed flying and building RC Airplanes, and sharing this passion with his children. His interests also included bow hunting, riding horses, fishing, barbecue, X-box 360, old country and 50's music, tractors and farming. He worked hard and he played hard.

He gave the gift of life as an organ donor.

He is survived by his wife, Angela Robards; two daughters, Aimee and Emmaline Robards; one son, Garrett Robards; parents, John and Kris Robards, all of Stonefort; grandparents, Barbara Schroen, Donna and Rolland Robards of Grass Lake, Mich.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jake was preceded in death by a sister, Amy Robards and a grandfather, Herman Schroen.

Funeral service will be 5 p.m. Friday Nov, 30, 2012, at In God We Trust Ministries Church, Golconda. Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville. A private burial will be held at the Robards Family Cemetery.
