OBITUARY: Rose Mary Bird

Rose Mary Bird, 72, of West Frankfort, passed away 9:10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at her residence.

She was born April 7, 1940, in West Frankfort to Freeman and Emma (Ice) Harris. She first married Billy McCollum and he preceded her in death in May of 1962. She then married William H. Bird April 17, 1965, at the Calvary Baptist Church in West Frankfort.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Bird of West Frankfort; a daughter, Terri Lynn and (Roger) Summers of Thompsonville; two stepsons, Bobby and (Tina) Bird and Billy and (Leslie) Bird, all of West Frankfort; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, JoAnn and (Hank) Golis of West Frankfort and Carolyn and (Richard) Wiggins of Eldorado; and a daughter-in-law, Donna McCollum of West Frankfort.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Freeman "Alan" McCollum; and an infant sister.

She was a member of the Harmony Free Will Baptist Church in West Frankfort. She retired from the Franklin County Skilled Care in Benton.

Funeral Services will are 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at the Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort with the Rev. Curtis Smith and the Rev. Kenneth McClerren officiating. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery near Thompsonville. Visitation is after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
