OBITUARY: Jerry Lee "Buddy" Hill
Jerry Lee "Buddy" Hill, 67, of Carrier Mills, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family and friends.
Jerry was born on Dec. 20, 1944, in Eldorado to the late Warren and Louise (Bradley) Hill. He married the former Karen Sue Clarke Mitchell on March 2, 1996, and she survives in Carrier Mills. Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army and was in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion of Carrier Mills, Veterans of Foreign Wars of Marion and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a retired truck driver.
Jerry is survived by his wife Karen, two daughters, Carol Hill Barnes and husband Tim of Harrisburg, Christy Hill Roberson and husband Ron of Harrisburg, two sisters, Mary Mackerman, and husband Mac, of San Tan Valley, Ariz., Patty Winkleman and husband Larry of Goodyear, Mich., stepdaughter Kimberly Tremaine, of Springfield, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by parents, one sister, Judy Fitgerald, and one step-son, Kevin Lee Mitchell.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at Reed Funeral Chapel. Howard Stearns will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at Reed Funeral Chapel. Military gravesite rites will be conducted by the Carrier Mills and Harrisburg American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the National Guard.
