OBITUARY: George Taylor Dudley
George Taylor Dudley, 78, of Harrisburg, in the Liberty Community, passed away 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at his residence.
George was born in Independence Township to Joseph and Hettie Marie Sherfield Dudley. George married Jean Hill June 6, 1953, in Harrisburg, and she preceded him in death April 29, 1995. He worked for New Era Dairies from 1956 to 1965 when they were purchased by Prairie Farms Dairies and he worked as a route salesman until retiring in 1989. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
George is survived by a son, George Michael Dudley of Harrisburg; a daughter, Jill Dudley of Rosiclare; one brother, James Dudley of Harrisburg; one sister, Molly Anglin of Evansville, Ind.; two grandchildren, Taylor Reed and Mika Reed; and a special friend, Virginia Pankey of Harrisburg.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Aaron, Raymond "Jack," Samuel and Billy Dudley; and one sister, Marvel Sutton.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2012, at the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home with burial in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the American Lung association in his memory and left at the funeral home.
