OBITUARY: Hazel Bernice Oelheim

Hazel Bernice Oelheim, 88, of Springfield, passed away Monday, Aug. 27, 2012. She was born June 24, 1924, in Cave-In-Rock, the daughter of John and Ida (McDowell) Angelton. Hazel married Harold R. Oelheim Feb. 13, 1946. He preceded her in death April 20, 2009.

Mrs. Oelheim is survived by her daughter, Lana Leiner of Wichita Falls, Texas; sister-in-law, Faye Oelheim of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents; husband; daughter, Linda J. Oelheim; five brothers; and two sisters.

Hazel was a graduate of Cave-In-Rock High School and Browns Business College, Paducah, Ky. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Springfield. Hazel was very involved in church activities with youth, Sunday School and Girl's Auxiliary.

Graveside Services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, in the Bankston Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, Harrisburg. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the First Baptist Church, 301 S. Grand Ave. West, Springfield, IL 62704.
