OBITUARY: Ronald Keith Deal

Ronald Keith Deal, 78, lifelong resident of Galatia, went home to his heavenly father suddenly on the morning of Saturday, August 18, 2012.

He was born at home Nov. 9, 1933, to Clyde and Ruth (Thornberry) Deal.

On April 6, 1952, he married his high school sweetheart, Betty Jean Orto. To this union two children were born, Rhonda Gail and Randy Keith. Together they have a hog and cattle operation along with Deal's Country eggs. Later in life, Keith and Betty developed a game bird operation.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; as well as their children, Rhonda (Kimball) Ewell of Harrisburg and Randy (Kimberly) Deal of Galatia; grandchildren, Kimberly Shea (Jesper) Kamp, Kate Ewell, Ryan Ewell, Ashlea Deal and Matthew Deal; stepgrandchildren, Stephanie (Joe) Hanley, Leslie (Dennis) Magruder and Keith (Panja) Ewell; great-grandchildren, Braxton Phillips, Sebastin and William Kamp; great-stepgrandchildren, Joey and Caty Hanley and Anna and Aaron Magruder. He is also survived by a cousin Marilyn Thornberry Lane.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, at Sloan Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, at Grace Baptist Church in Raleigh. Internment will follow at Raleigh Masonic Cemetery.
