OBITUARY: Barbara Evans Miller

Barbara Evans Miller, 74, of Metropolis, formerly of Harrisburg, passed away the evening of Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, with her family gathered around her.

Funeral Services were held 1 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2012, at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home with the Rev. Louis W. Brinker officiating. Burial followed at the Sunset Lawn in Harrisburg.

Barbara was born in Harrisburg July 20, 1938. She graduated from Harrisburg High School in 1956 and married Joseph Miller in December of that year.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joseph Miller of Metropolis; one son, Joseph Jr. and his wife Debbie of Metropolis; and one daughter, Lynda Miller of Memphis, Tenn.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ruth Evans, and her brother Tom Evans, all who resided in Harrisburg.

Visitation was held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2012, at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home.
