OBITUARY: Edwarda L. Griffith

Edwarda L. Griffith, age 84, of Harrisburg passed away at 11:47 p.m., Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Edwarda was born on April 13, 1928, in Williamson County to the late Arleigh and Lorena (Rice) Phillips. Edwarda married Dwight Eugene Griffith and he preceded her in death. Edwarda worked at the A.L.Bowen Center and was a caregiver at the Choate Mental Health Facility. She was a Methodist by faith.

Surviving family members include her son, Dwight Eugene Griffith, Jr. of Harrisburg; sister, Helen Beal of Harrisburg; three grandchildren, Terry Griffith, Angie Griffith, and Chrissy Weiland; three great-grandchildren, Sarah Beth Pittman, Nick Baird, and Kait Calkins; daughter-in-law, Tina Griffith of Herod; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, Dennis Griffith; and sister, Gladys Smith.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at Reed Funeral Chapel. Rev. Buddy Peyton will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Garden Cemetery.
