OBITUARY: Kathryn Jane (Kay) Bowers
Kathryn Jane (Kay) Bowers, 93, of Eldorado, passed away at 9:05 a.m., Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at Ferrell Hospital.
Kathryn was born in Eldorado on March 24, 1919, a daughter of the late Ora Mae (Merrick) and Alfred A. Miller.
She was a member of Harrisburg First Baptist Church. Kay enjoyed oil painting, quilting and ceramics. She especially loved her beautiful flowers.
She worked as a doctors assistant in Evansville prior to retirement.
She was the widow of Quentin Bowers, Carl Schultz and James Miller.
Kathryn is survived by a son, Steve Miller of Evansville, Ind.; lifelong friend, Virginia Lappin of Harrisburg; a step grandson, Bill Bartlett; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers; Oscar Miller and Arthur Miller; five sisters, Lillian Laux, Flora Parker, Lucille Goble, Bernice Schubel and Pauline Hopkins.
Funeral service at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado, at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012. Rev. Chris Winkleman will officiate.
Visitation is noon to service time Thursday at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home.
