Sharon Earlene Kingston

Sharon Earlene Kingston, 67, of Harrisburg, passed away at 12:10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at the V.A. Medical Center in Marion. She was born Feb. 1, 1945, in Shawneetown, the daughter of Floyd and Hazel Louise (Awalt) Lampert.

Sharon served our country in the Army during Vietnam and Desert Storm and retired from the Army. She was a member of the American Legion Post No. 2910. Sharon is survived by her son, Wesley Kingston of Equality; daughter, Lynn Rickenberg of Chester; sister, Thetna Nesbitt of Wyoming, Mich.; and brother, Edgar Lynn Lampert of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Tina and Pennie Kingston; son, Scott Koval; one sister, Alta Ruth Moore; and two brothers, Thomas Awalt and Otis Wayne Lampert.

Visitation for Sharon will be held from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. Brother Jonathan Stevens and Brother Bernie Emery will officiate. Burial with military rites will be at Elmwood Cemetery near Equality.
