OBITUARY: Anita Lindsey

Anita Lindsey, 67, of Galatia, passed away Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at 12:22 a.m. at her residence in Galatia.

She was born in Vale, Ore., Nov. 17, 1944, to Raymond Andrew Kittinger and Venita (Ramsey) Kittinger. Anita married William "Bill" Lindsey on Dec. 24, 1960, in Joliet.

She was the business manager for the YMCA over 25 years in Joliet. The Lindseys moved to Galatia in 2004 and previously lived in Joliet for 40-plus years. Anita is a member of the First Baptist Church in Galatia.

She is survived by her mother Venita Kittinger of Joliet; three children, Curt Lindsey of Carthage, Miss., Jim (Tammy) Lindsey of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Debbie McFarland of Galatia; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty (Charlie) Pogue if Fishers, Ind., and Ruby (Jim) Howell of Bartlett, Texas.

She was preceded by her father and a brother, Francis Kittinger.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at the Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia with the Rev. Mark Cockrum officiating. Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery.
