OBITUARY: James Gary Wilson

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[James Gary Wilson, age 73, of Norris City, died Tuesday, August 7, 2012, as result of an automobile accident in Mt. Vernon, Ind.

Gary, as most knew him, was born in Gallatin County on September 13, 1938, to the late James and Dorothy (Cox) Wilson. On June 5, 1960, he married the former Phyllis (Pantier) Wilson and she preceded him in death in 2009. Gary worked most of his life as Boilermaker, first at B & W in Mount Vernon and then out of St. Louis before retiring. His real love though was his race horses. He was well known throughout the Midwest for his horses he raised and raced. He also loved to garden and would always bring you food every time he came to your house. He loved to visit with his friends and family. He was attending the Ridgway First Baptist Church in Ridgway and was a member of the Ridgway Masonic Lodge. Gary will be greatly missed.

Gary is survived by two sons, Terry Wilson of Omaha and Chuck Wilson of Norris City; one daughter, Nancy (James) Majors of Springboro, Ohio; a brother, Larry (Elaine) Wilson of Rushville; one sister, Deanna Parks of Ft. Smith, Ark; six grandchildren, Brandi, Cassie, Tawny and Sarah Wilson, Sophie and Olivia Majors.

Visitation for Gary will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2012, at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway. Funeral services for Gary will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the funeral home. The Rev. Randy Davis will officiate and interment will follow at the Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven. There will be Masonic Rites conducted at the cemetery.
