OBITUARY: James Gordon "Jim" Ledbetter

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[James Gordon "Jim" Ledbetter, age 77, of Harrisburg passed away at 1 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at Shawnee Rose Care Center.

Jim was born on August 13, 1934, in Hardin County to the late Howard and Viola (Brown) Ledbetter. On October 5, 1963, he married Patricia Sue Hicks in Elizabethtown. Jim was a retired correctional officer from IYC. He was a member of the Buena Vista Community Church in Harrisburg. He attended Cave-in-Rock High School and Crossroad Elementary School in Hardin County. Jim was a faithful Wal-Mart walker.

Surviving family members include his wife, Patty Ledbetter of Harrisburg; son, Jeff (Susan) Thomas of Paducah, Ky.; daughter, Lisa (David) Bradford of Carrier Mills; grandson, James Bradford-his pride and joy; sister, Gertrude (Jack) Quertermous of Hardin County; brother, Bob (Norma) Ledbetter of Crestwood, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Laverne Patterson; brother, Paul Ledbetter; a brother in infancy; father and mother-in-law, Harvey and Helen Hicks; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Phillips.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, August 10, 2012, at Reed Funeral Chapel. The Rev. G.E. Coultas will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to service time, Friday, August 10, 2012, at Reed Funeral Chapel.
