OBITUARY: Dan January
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Dan January, 85, of Eldorado, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, at Fountainview Nursing Home.
Dan was born in West Frankfort on Aug. 18, 1926, a son of the late Elizabeth (Ivan) and John January.
He worked as a coal miner at Peabody No. 43 and as the Sexton and Cemetery Keeper for Wolf Creek Cemetery until his retirement.
He served in the U.S. 13th Air Force During WWII.
He was the widower of Mary Earlene (Pryor) January.
Dan is survived by two daughters, Betty Ann (Denny) Gholson of Raleigh and Mary (Joe) Harris of Eldorado; a son, Danny January of Eldorado; 9 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by four brothers; John, Joe, Steve and Alex; and three sisters, Grace Seabloom, Elizabeth Sabo and Elizabeth January.
A memorial service will be held at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado, at 1 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2012, with Arlie Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Friends may call noon until service time Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wolf Creek Cemetery or St. Mary's Cemetery and may be left at the funeral home.
