OBITUARY: Ruth Evangeline Bush

Ruth Evangeline Bush, age 93, of Harrisburg, passed away surrounded by friends and family on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

She was born on Dec. 6, 1918, in Cave-In-Rock to the late Clyde and Etta Tyer Bush. On Dec. 23, 1939, she married Ownly Bush and he preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 1990.

Ruth was a cook in the Unit No. 3 School District including District 49. She was a member of Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church and was an elder board member of the Vinyard Indian Settlement.

Surviving family members include three sons, Barney Bush of Herod, John David Bush and wife Deborah of Harrisburg and Fredrick Bush and wife Ellen of Harrisburg; two brothers, Marcellus Vinyard and wife Phyllis of Murphysboro and Richard Clyde Vinyard and wife Barbara of Rudement; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Thomas Jefferson Vinyard.

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, at Saline Ridge Cemetery in Harrisburg. The Rev. Don Nelson officiated. Burial followed in Saline Ridge Cemetery.
