OBITUARY: The Rev. Edward Lee Jackson
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Rev. Edward Lee Jackson, 80, from Stonefort, passed away at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at the V.A. Nursing Home in Marion.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. The funeral will be held noon immediately after visitation at the funeral home with the Rev. Ed Krantz officiating. The burial will have a military ceremony take place at Zion Cemetery at Ozark.
Edward was born Oct. 14, 1931, in Stonefort to Gene and Ruth (Nance) Jackson. He has one surviving brother, George Jackson from Stonefort. He had three brothers who are deceased: Gary, Jim and Harold.
Edward was a veteran and he served his country in the Korean War. He was a farmer right after the war. He also went to Midwest Continent College in Mayfield, Ky., to complete his Bibical studies. He worked on the railroad in Carbondale that is now known as Amtrak that travels from New Orleans to Chicago. He was a boss at Koppers Company in Carbondale. He was a cook at Job Corps. He helped many young men and was known as "Pops." Edward pastored many churches in the area and performed many weddings and funerals.
Edward married Mary L. (Wilkins) Jackson, of Stonefort, on Nov. 7, 1952, in Piggott, Ark. They were married for 47 years. She preceded him in death Feb. 22, 1999.
Edward and Mary's surviving children are:
Mark Jackson and ex-wife deceased Barbara (Lunsford) of Delwood and his two daughters, Aaron Jackson of Harrisburg and Ryan (Jackson) Travis of Golconda; Theresa (Jackson) Graham and husband Glen of Burna, Ky., and her three daughters Heather (Graham) Sanson of Paducah, Ky., Sarah Graham and Amy Graham Franklin of Burna, Ky.; Rebecca (Jackson) Osterkamp and husband Matthew of Jefferson City, Mo., and her three children, Eric, Katelyn and Angela.
He also has seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
