OBITUARY: Helen Brinkley
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Helen Brinkley, 93, of Junction, passed away at 4:40 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at the Ridgway Manor Nursing Home in Ridgway.
She was born April 10, 1919, in Bowlesville, the daughter of Guy and Madeline (Ellis) Moore. Helen married Woodrow Brinkley on November 14, 1937, and he preceded her in death on August 24, 1995.
She was a faithful member of the Leamington Community Church.
Helen is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Jane and her husband Charles Scherrer of Newburgh, Ind., Jeannie and her husband John Schiff of Pensacola, Fla.; two sons, Paul David "Butch" and his wife Terri Brinkley of Junction, Bob Brinkley of Junction; foster daughter, Susie and her husband Mike Nixon of Waverly, Ky.; two sisters, Wilma and her husband Joe Patton of West Frankfort, Ruth Wiltshire of East Alton; daughter in law, Nancy Brinkley of Equality; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters, Agnes Marie and Erma Lee Brinkley; foster son, Donnie Brinkley; three sisters, Mary Hartsburg, Irene Mitchell and Ann Blaize; three brothers, Charles, Glen and Bill Moore.
Visitation for Helen will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2012, at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at the Leamington Community Church with the Rev. Lee Fricker officiating. Burial will be at the Hogan Cemetery near Shawneetown.
