Obituary: Ruth Ella Hayden

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Ruth Ella Hayden, 84 years old, of Sandoval passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at St. Mary&#39;s Good Samaritan Hospital in Centralia.

She was born on Oct. 12, 1927, in Cottage Township of Saline County. She was the daughter of Raymond and Mildred (Payne) Alvey. She married Lawrence Hayden on April 26, 1947, in Cottage Grove Methodist Church and he survives her in Sandoval.

Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Hayden of Sandoval; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth Hayden and wife Evelyn of York, Pa., Allen Hayden and wife Connie of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Russell "Rusty" Hayden of Sacramento, Calif.; a brother and sister-in-law, Royal Alvey and wife Mary Lou of Eldorado; a sister, Barbara Farris of Ridgway; several grandchildren, Marcy Hill and husband Simon of Blaine, Wash., James Hayden and wife Brianna of Vancouver, British Columbia, Thomas Hayden of Houston, Texas, Michael Hayden and wife Lauren of Milwaukee, Wis., Erin Hayden of Los Angeles, Calif., and Marc Hayden and Brian Hayden, both of Sacramento, Calif.; and three great-grandchildren, Cassidy Hill, Elijah Hill and Isabella Hill.

Ruth Ella was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mildred Alvey; a brother, John Edd Alvey; and a sister, Vivian Umanski.

Ruth Ella grew up in Southern Illinois and lived her adult life in Sandoval. She worked for Super Sales Hardware in Salem for 20 years. She was also a devoted mother and homemaker. She was a member of the Sandoval United Methodist Church, The United Methodist Women of the Church, and the Order of the Eastern Star of Sandoval Chapter No. 715. She enjoyed quilting and raising flowers. However, she most enjoyed spending time with her family.

Visitation will be conducted from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2012, at the Day Funeral Home in Sandoval and from 9 a.m. until time of service on Monday, July 2, 2012, at the United Methodist Church of Sandoval.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2012, from the United Methodist Church in Sandoval. Graveside committal service will be conducted at 5 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2012, from the Cottage Grove Cemetery in rural Eldorado. The Rev. Clayton Coffey will officiate all services. Burial will be in Cottage Grove Cemetery in rural Eldorado.
