Obituary: Howard Lewis

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Howard Lewis, 78, of 1105 N. Main St., Carrier Mills, died 7:49 a.m. Sunday, July 1, 2012, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Visitation will be held after 2 p.m. until time of service Thursday. The Rev Harl Cockrum will officiate, cremation will follow and burial of cremated remains will be at a later time at Zion Cemetery near Ozark. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

He was born on Sept. 13, 1933 in Stonefort to the late William and Emma (Harper) Lewis.

He married the former Dolores G. Falk on Aug. 17, 1957 and she preceded him in death on June 28, 2005.

He was a retired service manager from Bowman Chevrolet in Clarkston, Mich.

He is survived by three sons, Mike (Sally) Lewis and Cris (Dawn) Lewis, both of Waterford, Mich. and Lonnie (Gail) Lewis of Seargent, Texas; three daughters, Tamie (Kevin) Edwards of Gladwin, Mich., Teresa (Tracy) Bailey and April (Kevin Merick) Lewis both of Holly, Mich.; brother, Joe Lewis of Waterford, Mich.; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Lewis; daughter, Karen Hillird; grandson, Justin Johnson; two brothers; and one sister.
