Obituary: Aline Sarah (Tavender) Seets

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Aline Sarah Seets, 98, of Harrisburg, passed away at 2:55 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2012, at Carrier Mills Nursing Home.

Aline was born in Saline County on July 1, 1913, a daughter of the late Louise Tavender. She was married to Henry L. Seets of Harrisburg, who preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Apostolic Church in Harrisburg and in earlier years was very active with the Salvation Army. Aline was an excellent seamstress and shared her beautiful pillows and quilts with family and friends. She also enjoyed working in her yard. Aline loved Jesus with all her heart and shared her faith openly with all she met.

Survivors include nieces, Lorraine (late Charles) Warmelink of St. John, Ind., Lena (late Bill) Roper and Doty (late Joe) Johnson of Harrisburg, Dr. Nora Belle (late Bernard) Oldham of Florida, Halleen (Clifford) Costner of Tennessee and Arlene (Carl) Goodhue.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mabel (A.C.) Jackson, Oveda (Hosie) Sneed and Hazel (Frank) Proto; nieces, Mary Tanner, Tottie Fritts and Gertrude Johnson; and nephew, Bobby Proto.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the Ledford Cemetery in Ledford. The Rev. Roger Lipe will officiate. Those attending are asked to gather at the cemetery. Arrangements for Aline Seets are under the direction of Reed Funeral Chapel.

Aline's family wishes to extend their gratitude to the special people who took care of Aline for the past nine years at the Carrier Mills Nursing Home. We are very grateful for your love and compassion.
