Obituary: R. Blaine Mauney
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[R. Blaine Mauney, 74, of Harrisburg, passed away at his residence at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2012.
Blaine was born on Oct. 4, 1937, in Pleasant View, Ky., to Roy and Ellen (Bird) Mauney.
He married Rebecca L. Deuel on July 16, 1971, in Jellico, Tenn. They had one son.
Blaine is survived by his wife; son and daughter-in-law, Roy (Melissa) Mauney of Harrisburg; two grandsons, Brice and Ethan Mauney of Harrisburg; two brothers, Dewey Mauney of Lake of Egypt and Robert Mauney of Pleasant View, Ky.; and two sisters, Melba Killman of Lake of Egypt and Edith Roberts of Lake of Egypt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters.
He was a member of the Sons of American Legion Squadron Post No. 167, Harrisburg.
He retired from Eagle No. 2 Coal Mine of Shawneetown in 1991.
His death was related to injuries he received in the Feb. 29, 2012, tornado.
As per his request he will be cremated and there will not be any services.
