Obituary: Mary Knott

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mary Knott, 86, of Eldorado, passed away at 4:59 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Mary was born in Coal Bluff, Ind. on Dec. 29, 1925, a daughter of the late Josephine (Mann) and Stanley Van Hook.

She was a homemaker.

She was the widow of Eugene Knott.

Mary is survived by two daughters, Janice Sullivan of Harrisburg and Ruth E. (Terry) Murphy of Eldorado; three sons, Donald R. (Cheryl) Knott of Terre Haute, Ind., Jack (Linda) Knott of West Frankfort and James A. (Georgianna) Knott of Eldorado; several grandchildren, Donald A. (Ashley) Knott, Justin A. (Billie Jo) Knott, Amber L. Knott, Mary Ann (David) Stewart, Brandy Knott, Angie (Jeff) Milligan, Terri Lynn (Jason) Brown, Brett (Melissa) Sullivan, Michael (Joni) Sullivan, Theresa (Donny) Batchelor and Mechelle (Mark) Hudson; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Dean Knott; several siblings, Ruth Lawson, Letha Llewellyn, Opal Archer, Elma Van Hook, Harry Van Hook, Wilbur Van Hook, Edward Van Hook and Hyla Walters; and a grandson, Michael W. Murphy.

Funeral Services will be held at Mattox Wood Funeral Home, 4660 Lafayette St., Terre Haute, Ind. at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2012. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery in Rosedale, Ind.

Visitation is at Mattox Wood Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to service time Friday.
