Obituary: Roberta Naas

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Roberta Naas, 90, longtime resident of Ridgway, died peacefully at her home on May 17, 2012.

Roberta was born in Ridgway on June 13, 1921, to the late Fred and Catherine (Kohl). Roberta was married on Sept. 24, 1939, to Cedric Naas, who preceded her in death in 1973.

She was a faithful member of St. Patrick's and St. Joseph Catholic Churches. She was in Home Extension, Altar Society, helped on the family farm, involved in 4-H, played cards and worked at Blevins Popcorn for 22 years before retiring. She was instrumental in getting meals for the families started after funerals, and loved the Rosary. Her true passions were her family and her faith, as she showed that daily in her life. Roberta was good wife, wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by three daughters, Judy (Sonny) Lee of Ridgway, Sharon (Pat) McGuire of Junction and Darlene (L. Pat) Drone of Ridgway; nine grandchildren, Jeff Lee, Cindy Short, Amy Wilson, Dana Scott, Lori Payne, Jennifer McGuire, Gregg Drone, Todd Drone and Josh Drone; 20 great-grandchildren, Braden and Hailey Short, Whitney McManus, Dylon Lee, Hannah and Madison Wilson, James and Alexander Scott, Jonathan, Ryan, and Danielle Payne, John Mikel, Dustin, Tyler and Patrick Lowe, Amanda, Bailey, Dalton and Josie Drone; two great-great-grandchildren, Hunter and McKenzie McManus; one brother, Cletus (Theresa) Drone; and one sister, Viola Roe.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four sons, Cedric "Teddy" Naas, George Naas, infants, Wilford and Joseph Naas; a great-grandson, Timothy Drone; two sisters, Pauline McGuire and Elizabeth Daily; and two brothers, Clarence Drone and Monsignor Raphael Drone.

Visitation for Roberta will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, 2012, at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway where a prayer service will be conducted at 4 p.m.

Funeral Mass for Roberta will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 21, 2012, with Father Steven Beatty celebrating and interment to follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Ridgway.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the St. Joseph Church Building fund in her memory.
