Obituary: David S. Jordan

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[David S. Jordan Jr., 95, of Harrisburg, passed away 3:23 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012, in Harrisburg Medical Center.

He was born April 6, 1917, in St. Joseph, Mo., to David S. And Eva Rutledge Jordan Sr. He was married to Gladys Plummer who preceded him in death and later married Zella Mae Ewell on Sept. 15, 1979, and she survives.

David retired after 30 years from the Joppa Power Plant. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corp where he was a member of the 8th Air Corp during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Zella; four daughters, Elaine Hagler, Des Moines, Wash., Charlene Blankenship, Edinburg, Texas, Jeanetta Mattingly, Harrisburg, and Julia Jones, Olive Branch, Miss.; 12 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Gladys; a son, David S. Jordan III; and two brothers, William Donald Jordan and Ralph Rutledge Jordan.

Graveside services will be at a later date. The J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
