Obituary: Thelma Catherine Fulkerson
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Thelma Catherine Fulkerson, 87, of Carmi passed away Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Winchester House in Libertyville, where she was receiving rehabilitation therapy.
She was born Oct. 24, 1924, in Centerville, the daughter of Harry and Bertha (Heil) Savage. Thelma married Louis Ray Fulkerson on Aug. 18, 1945, and he preceded her in death on April 10, 1979.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carmi. Thelma was a homemaker and bookkeeper for her husband's Mobil Oil business. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
Thelma is survived by two daughters, Connie O'Neal of Vernon Hills and Cathy Fulkerson of Evansville, Ind.; a granddaughter, Holly O'Neal and her fiancee Doug Townsend of Vernon Hills and her great-granddaughter, Olivia Ann Walker of Vernon Hills, who was the" light of her life"; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Betty Blackford and Donna (John) Neal; a brother and sister-in-law Ronald (Linda) Savage, all of Carmi and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Owen and Jack.
Funeral services for Thelma C. Fulkerson of Carmi will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with the Rev. Doug Morrow officiating. Burial will be in Centerville Cemetery near Carmi. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 7, 2012, and until time of service at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
