Obituary: Imogene Irene Downen
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Imogene Irene Downen, 89, passed away Thursday morning, May 3, 2012, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.
Imogene was born April 28, 1923, to Roy and Ollie Moore in Equality. She married the late James E. Stricklin on Oct. 5, 1940, and in 1959 married the late Robert W. Downen.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Terry Wayne Stricklin; and her parents.
Imogene was employed at the Egyptian Health Department for many years. She lived a number of years in the Asbury community east of Ridgway, New Haven and in her later years in Eldorado.
Surviving are a daughter, Barbara and Bernie Rodgers of Ridgway; a son, Allen and Beverly Stricklin of Norris City; and one granddaughter, Cyndi and David Punke of Paxton.
Per Imogene's request there will be a private burial at the Lindale Cemetery in Eldorado on Sunday afternoon, May 6, 2012, with the family requesting no flowers. Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado is in charge of arrangements.
