Obituary: Billy Ray Williams

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Billy Ray Williams, 79, of 701 Trolley Road in Eldorado, died Monday April 30, 2012 at Ferrell Hospital.

He was born in Crittenden County, Ky., on Feb. 23, 1933 to the late Raymond O. and Frances Irene (Minner) Williams.

He was an auto mechanic and a certified master technician for all three auto makers. He also worked maintenance for Scot Lad. He was a member of the Scott Street Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and he was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

On March 21, 1960, he married the former Mildred Hicks and she survives. Also surviving are three sons, Patrick Williams of Greenville, Ind., Doug "Shag" (Chrissy) Williams of Eldorado and Billy Ray (Judy) Williams of Harrisburg; one daughter, Terry (Bill) Fulton of Danville; three brothers, James Guthrie "Pete" (Ada) Williams of Norris City, Philip (Kathy) Williams of Equality and Ralph (Shirley) Williams of Equality; and four sisters, Ruth (Morris) Yingling of Hamstead, Md.,, Jean Todd of Evansville, Ind., Joyce Pearce of Herrin and Sharon Rider of Ridgway. Also surviving are six grandchildren; Carrie Smith, Rita Lee Williams, Danyell Williams, Dustin Williams, Dustin Levi Gabbard and Jacob D. Smith.

He was preceded in death by a son, David Williams, on Dec. 15, 1995; and a daughter, Saundra Williams. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, John, Charles and Floyd Williams; and a sister, Margaret Ann.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at the Watson Funeral Home with the Rev. Art Watson officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to service time on Wednesday.
