Obituary: William R. DeVillez
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[William R. DeVillez, 88, Harrisburg, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2012, at Saline Care Center.
He was born on July 22, 1923, in Eldorado to the late Vern and Orlean (Karnes) DeVillez. He married Helen (Brooks) on Nov. 13, 1943, and she survives.
William was a long-time farmer and a truck driver for Twin County and a member of Eldorado First Baptist Church and Saline County Farm Bureau, and he was a World War II Navy veteran.
William is survived by his wife, Helen DeVillez of Harrisburg; a son, William "Bill" and wife Susan DeVillez of Floyds Kob, Ind.; a son, Robert "Bob" and wife Donna DeVillez of Harrisburg; a son, James Michael and wife Betsy DeVillez; seven grandchildren, Angie and husband Tim Kane of Georgetown, Ind., Lesley and husband Scott Peach of Greenville, Ind., Robert J. DeVillez of Harrisburg, Joe and wife Ashley DeVillez of West Frankfort, Chelsea E. DeVillez of St. Louis, Mo., Haley M. DeVillez of Carbondale and William Z. DeVillez of Raleigh; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews survive.
William was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, LaVerne Craggs.
Private family service will be held. Reed Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Arbor Day Foundation in William's honor.
