Obituary: James Raymond Howton

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[James Raymond Howton, 76, of Eldorado, passed away at 9:25 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at the Fountainview Nursing Home in Eldorado.

He was born on Jan. 12, 1936, in Herod, the son of James Moses and Lillian (Lambert) Howton. He married the former Frances Jane Haswell, who survives.

Jim retired in 1997 as general manager of Space Ordinance Systems in Canyon Country, Calif. He was a past member of the Elks Club in California.

Jim is survived by his wife, Frances Howton of Eldorado; one daughter, Jennifer and Jason Young of Eldorado; two sons, Jeff and Vicki Howton and Joe and Vickie Howton, all of Castaic, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Denise and Dan Lanier of Cottonwood, Calif.; one stepson, Bill and Marni King of Santa Creata Valley, Calif.; five brothers; three sisters; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and two sisters.

Visitation for Jim will be held from 10 a.m. until memorial service time at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at the Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado. The Rev. Jimmy Dale Lambert and Bro. Chris Howton will officiate.
