OBITUARY: Laurene Lafferty

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[On Easter morning, April 8, 2012, Laurene Lafferty went home to be with her Lord. She died peacefully in her sleep at Hardin County General Hospital under the wonderful care of family and staff.

Laurene was born May 18, 1917, in Hitchens, Ky., the daughter of the late Otis O. Morrison and Bertha Enyart Morrison. She later moved with her family to Logan County, W. Va., where she met and married the love of her life, Edward H. Lafferty.

Laurene was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Her life was dedicated to her husband and family, but she always found room in her heart for one more who had no place to go or just needed a word of encouragement.

Laurene is survived by her husband of 66 years, Edward of Elizabethtown; one wonderful brother, Grover R. Morrison of Logan, W. Va.; sons, Jack Montgomery (Jadi) of Man, W. Va., Edward R. Lafferty (Kay) of Elizabethtown; loving daughters, Sandra K. McCumber (David) of Golconda, Pat Lolley (Dan) of Camden, Tenn., Barbara Clymer (Terry), Debra Dermyer (Dan) of Tecumseh, Mich.; 24 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews and nieces.

Laurene was preceded in death by four beloved children: Thomas L. Lafferty in Vietnam, James T. Montgomery, Donetta McGlone and John Paul Montgomery.

Local funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hardin County Funeral Services, Cox Funeral Home, Rosiclare. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in Elizabethtown. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in Elizabethtown.

The Rev. Aurthur Austin Jr. will officiate.

There will be one night&#39;s visitation at Honaker Funeral Home in Logan, W. Va. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2012. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Logan, W. Va.
