Obituary: Evelyn Davis
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Evelyn Davis, 88, of 21206 Holmes Road, Creal Springs, died at 7:45 a.m. Monday April 2, 2012, at the River to River Assisted Living Center in Marion.
At Ms. Davis' request, all funeral services will be private and held at a later date. Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills is in charge of arrangements.
She was born on July 24, 1923, in Stonefort to the late Robert Lee and Opal (Newton) Parks. She was married to the late Lyman Edward Davis on March 24, 1940, and he preceded in death on Oct. 13, 1968.
She is survived by five sons, George (Gloria Joan) Davis of Creal Springs, Jerry (Connie) Davis of Slidell, La., John (Cathy) Davis of Marion, Jimmy (Cindy) Davis of Pleasant Plains and Kenney (Barbara) Davis of Crab Orchard; a daughter, Joan Renee Davis of Chatham; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, George Parks, Ezra Parks, Carl Parks and Gilbert Parks; a sister: Flossie Parks Furlow; and daughter-in-law, Jeannie Davis.
