Obituary: William Raymond Yandell
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[William Raymond Yandell, 88, of 3751 Stonefort Road, Creal Springs, died Monday, March 5, 2012, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2012. The Rev. Jack Hill will officiate. Burial will be in Wise-Robinson Cemetery near Ozark with military rites by the Carrier Mills and Harrisburg American Legions and the National Guard Ritual Team. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
He was born on Feb. 15, 1924, in Ozark to the late William Frank and Ollie Mae (Treat) Yandell. He married Arlena Buckner in 1958 and she survives.
He was a retired coal miner from Peabody Will Scarlet Mine, Army veteran of World War II and Korean War and a member of the Springhill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Arlena Yandell; son, William Jeffery Yandell of Stonefort; daughter, Marsha Ann Yandell of Stonefort; two sisters, Hazel Duke of Humboldt, Tenn. and Lila Thompson of Mount Vernon; grandson, Landrey O'Neal of Benton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lena Hale and Marjorie Jenkins; and a sister-in-law, Martha Davis.
