Obituary; Mary Jane Mitchell
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mary Jane Mitchell, 75, of Eldorado, passed away at 4:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at the home of her son in Raleigh.
Mary was born in Sneedville, Tenn. on Dec. 13, 1936, a daughter of Opal (Johnson) McDaniel, who survives and the late John McDaniel.
In addition to being a loving mother and homemaker, she worked as a housekeeper at Pearce Hospital.
She had served as Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star two times and was a lifelong member.
She was the wife of John Carlie Mitchell, Sr. who survives.
In addition to her mother and husband, Mary is survived by three sons, John "J.C." Carlie (Sherry Prather) Mitchell Jr. of Raleigh, Carl Boyd (Anita Ozee) Mitchell of Elizabethtown and David Lee (Teresa Hale) Mitchell of Raleigh; two sisters, Madeline Ramsey of Tazewell, Tenn. and Debbie Bussel of Tazewell, Tenn.; three brothers, Woodrow McDaniel of Tazewell, Tenn., Alonzo McDaniel of Tazewell, Tenn. and Joe McDaniel of Tazewell, Tenn.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to he father, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenny Mitchell; a daughter, Kitty Mitchell; and a brother, Carlo McDaniel.
Graveside services at Raleigh Masonic Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, with Pastor Bob Prather officiating. There will be no visitation, those attending should go directly to the cemetery.
