Obituary: Mary Joann Curry
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mary Joann Curry, 83, of Junction, and lifelong resident of Gallatin County, died at her home on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012.
Joann, as most knew her, was born in the Saline Mine area south of Shawneetown on Sept. 9, 1928, to the late Nathaniel and Ethel (Young) Brazier. On Feb. 8, 1952, she was married to William "Bill" Curry who survives.
Joann loved to make quilts, fish, visit with her family and friends. Joann and Bill were married for almost 60 years and when you seen one of them you seen both. They had a wonderful marriage. Joann was a good wife, loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be missed.
Joann was survived by five sons, Bill (Paula) Curry of Junction, Jim Curry of Eddyville, Charles (Mary Ann) Curry of Eldorado, Mick (Sheila) Curry of Thomasboro and Joe (Sandy) Curry of West Virginia; one brother, Bob Brazier of Shawneetown; a sister, Millie Dortch of Shawneetown; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, three sisters and two sons.
Visitation for Joann will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at Cox and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Harry Spivey. Interment will follow in the Reed Cemetery south of Shawneetown.
