Obituary: Daniel Christopher Gruppo

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Daniel Christopher Gruppo, 76, of 4230 U.S. 45 North, died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at his residence.

He was born on April 9, 1935 in Rosetta, Pa. to the late Daniel Sr. and Ginny (Ferina) Gruppo.

He retired first from Trans Bridge Bus Co. in Bethlehem, Pa. and also retired from Best Way Trucking in Vincennes, Ind. and he was a Marine veteran.

He married the former Barbara Skelton on Dec. 17, 2006, and she survives in Harrisburg. He was a member of the Eldorado Legion and former member of the legion in Santa Claus, Ind. He attended Wesley Chapel Church as well as Star General Baptist Church and he volunteered at the Equality food pantry.

Other survivors include four stepchildren from his first marriage, Billy, Jerry, Randy and Ricky Gunther; three stepchildren from his second marriage, Mark Snedeker, Marlene Mullis and Kendra Buehler; and four stepchildren from his third marriage, Steph Battles, Ray Brown, Chris Brown and Marlene Roberts. He is also survived by a brother, Ronald Gruppo of Philadelphia, Pa.; 22 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle Cooper Gruppo; and his second wife, Jean Gruppo. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Gruppo Sr.; and he was also preceded in death by his best lil buddy, man&#39;s best friend, "Teddy."

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at the Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. Jim Allison and the Rev. Ron Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturda,y Jan. 7, 2012, at the funeral home.
