Obituary: Ernest 'Ernie' Eugene Boyd

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Ernest "Ernie" Eugene Boyd, 91, died peacefully Monday, Dec. 13, 2010. He had been living with his daughter, Marsha, in Rincon, Ga., for the past eight years.

Born Nov. 9, 1919, he was the son of Vallie and Marguerite Boyd of Tamaroa.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II.

On Dec. 15, 1946, he married Blanche Lorene Morgan of Du Quoin, who preceded him in death. He lived in Harrisburg for more than 50 years.

In April 1979, he married Ida Mae Holland, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his daughter, Marsha (Keith) Cornell; and granddaughter Jennifer Lorene Peavy (Clay) of Rincon, Ga. Also surviving are his stepdaughters, Connie (Tom) Murray and Mona (Roger) Langford of Harrisburg; and several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

He had arranged to donate his body to medical science/research at the Medical College of Georgia.
