Obituary: Cody Lee Cowger

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Cody Lee Cowger, 22, Stonefort, passed away at 4:42 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, at his home.

Cody was born March 2, 1989, to Greg and Karen Sisky Cowger.

He was an employee of Morris Excavating and was a member of the Carrier Mills First Baptist Church, where he was baptized by the Rev. Harl Cockrum.

He is survived by his parents, Greg and Karen of Stonefort; a brother, Nick and Barbara Ditterline Cowger of Stonefort; a niece, Paislee Marie Cowger; maternal grandmother, Barbara Sisky of Harrisburg; paternal grandmother, Georgia Cowger of Carrier Mills; and a stepdaughter, Krista Jade Hunt.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Sterling Cowger; maternal grandfather, John Lee Sisky; and his special great-grandmother, Violet Cowger.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, in the Carrier Mills Middle School Gymnasium with the Rev. Harl Cockrum and the Rev. Ryan Beck officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, also at the middle school gymnasium. The family asked that in lieu of flowers, the way to remember Cody would be a memorial to the special reading programs of the Carrier Mills-Stonefort Unit School District. Envelopes would be available at the gymnasium. Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills is entrusted with the arrangements.
