Obituary: Laura Lee Norris
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Laura Lee Norris, 81, died peacefully in Deaconess Hospital, Evansville, Ind., on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011.
Laura was born on Aug. 31, 1930, in New Haven to the late Clyde and Willamine (Browning) Lawrence. Laura was married to the late John Norris, who preceded her in death in 2005.
Laura and John had lived in Las Vegas and Reno where they worked before retiring back to New Haven in 1992. Laura was a member of the New Haven American Legion Women's Auxiliary and a Christian. She loved to visit with family and friends and stay in her home. She was a good wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed.
Laura is survived by one daughter, Lynne Davis of New Haven; two sisters, Leveda Pyle of New Haven and Ilean Downs of Godfrey; five grandchildren, Mickey Graville, Stephanie Graville, Katie Ashford, Dawn Wendelton and Shawn McDowell; nine great-grandchildren; one nephew, Chris (Robin) Pyle; one niece, Regina Brucki; and an uncle Paul Lawrence.
She was preceded by her parents; husband; and a son, Terry Burnam.
In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated. A memorial service will be on Jan. 3, 2012 at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in New Haven with the Rev. Buddy Hubbard officiating. The family will receive friends after 11 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at the Union Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
